9th Edition of IIJS Signature 2016 and 3rd Edition of IGJME kick starts

The International Gemological Institute (IGI) School of Gemology hosted its graduation ceremony for the Professional Jewelry Design Graduates recently for 6 students with a lot of joy and pride at their IGI office at Karol Baugh. Tehmasp Printer - Managing Director - IGI India, the guest of honor at the event presented diplomas to the students issued from the IGI headquarters in Antwerp, Belgium and shared a few of his experiences and insights on this occasion. IGI School of Gemology has been instrumental in conducting professional grading courses across India since 1999. The team of instructors at IGI has successfully trained over ten thousand students as per International Standards.%% The students come from various fields ranging from being just out of college students, children of diamantaires planning to join the business as well as free lance designers upgrading to current times. The students are introduced to the latest trends of designing in the domestic as well as international markets. The portfolios that the students create during their training are a mix of ideas taken from nature, history, man-made materials, gemstones, metals, etc thus bringing out the creativity in every student. They have first hand exposure to practical jewelry making, budgeting and finally understanding consumer psychology while buying jewelry - the aspects which give one confidence to face the markets independently. Tehmasp Printer opines, “It has been our objective to provide young professionals with international education and training to equip them with an edge in the market place . I am very happy to present these diplomas to the students who have excelled in the program and are now ready to apply this education in their careers and see the benefits unfold”.%% Sweta Ranka - The (newly appointed) Instructor at IGI New Delhi for Jewelry Designing comes with 7 years of rich experience in the jewelry design field. After graduating from the Delhi University and gaining knowledge in jewelry design from reputed universities, has been an active contributor to the Jewelry Industry and brings to IGI her insights and experience for the students to benefit. On this occasion, she said, "Being a part of IGI is an opportunity & honor to take education in the field of Jewelry Designing to a different level. The Jewelry Design course at IGI is a comprehensive course that provides a platform for its students to channelise their creativity.
