SamayaBharati 2016 concludes on a positive and optimistic note

Over 100 national and international brands participated in the fair that attracted a footfall of over 5000 visitors from India and abroad.

At Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery, Convocation day is a day devoted to celebrating an important point in students' lives. Examinations are finally over, scruffiness is replaced with fancy clothes and parents admire their children for reaching the finishing line of a long marathon. Most of all, it is a time of unrestrained optimism. On December 11, 2013, the students of Diploma Batch 7 were declared graduates at the Navinchandra Auditorium at IIGJ, Andheri East. This occasion was graced by the presence of Chief Guest- Praveenshankar Pandya – Director IIGJ, Vasant Mehta- Chairman-IIGJ, Namita Pandya – Convenor IIGJ Tardeo, Mr.Nirmal Kumar Barmecha – Director IIGJ, Prabir Chatterjee – Convenor-Advisory Board- IIGJ and Col.S K Arora (Retd) Head IIGJ.%% The Convocation Ceremony started by presenting a short clip of student’s work which was displayed at the GLIMPZ 2013 and IIJS 2013. The Chief Guest- Praveenshankar Pandya was then welcomed by Vasant Mehta – Chairman IIGJ and Introduced by Col.S K Arora. After the introduction, students were invited onstage to share their experience about the learning years. A beaming glow with self-fulfillment was seen on their faces as they shared their thoughts and experience at IIGJ. It was then time to announce the best performers of batch D 7. The best student Trophy was bagged by Simi Chandran, Shweta Mehra was declared the second runner up and Mr. Harsh Gandhi was announced as the third runner up for their consistent performance during the six semesters.%% After the award ceremony Vasant Mehta – Chairman IIGJ encouraged the students and made the students aware about the growing competition in the industry and guided the students as to how they could pave their path to success. The Chief Guest – Praveenshankar Pandya was then invited to build the encouragement of the graduates. His speech made students feel proud to be a part of this industry and parents realized that their assistance—both financial and emotional—was worthwhile, and the faculty had the satisfaction of training these students well. The Ceremony ended on a happy note through a vote of thanks given by Nirmal Kumar Barmecha- Director- IIGJ. The students were then bid farewell with lots of good wishes.
