Gemological Science International (GSI) has launched the Joy Box campaign in association with Each One Teach One (EOTO), a charitable foundation aimed at creating opportunities for underprivileged children in urban and rural India. The Joy Box campaign will provide boxes containing essential daily items to approximately 100 Each One Teach One children in Mumbai. The campaign runs throughout Summer 2014.%% Mark Gershburg, CEO of GSI, one of the world’s largest gemological laboratories, initiated the campaign and is coordinating the distribution and collection of the boxes. GSI has the support of the entire Mumbai diamond industry based in the Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB) and the Capital Building in Bandra Kurla Complex. Industry participants will fill the boxes provided by GSI with basic items such as geometry boxes, pen sets, socks, educational games, full scape papers for tests, T- shirts, and new clothes (for ages 13 to 15). %% “Social responsibility is a fixed component in GSI culture and is strongly supported by our employees,” said VP Neeta Shah. “By giving back to society in a beneficial way we are taking responsibility for future generations.” %% “This is the first time that EOTO has collaborated with the jewelry and diamond industry, and we are very grateful to Mark Gershburg for opening the doors for us to work with this industry that is so important to India," said Hema Raney, CEO, Each One Teach One. GSI will pick up the filled boxes from industry supporters and deliver them to the Each One Teach One foundation.
