Namakwa Diamonds Limited has announced its financial results for the first six months of fiscal 2010. The company’s revenues rose 362 percent to $36.2 million and net loss reduced to $11.9 million as compared to $76.7 million in the same period a year ago, reports say. Cash balance amounted to $3.7 million, over $21.4 million in the same six months of last year. %% Inventory of rough diamonds decreased 61 percent to $5.4 million, but polished diamond inventory rose 36 percent to $11.3 million, reports say. Reports add that the company noted a 49 percent increase in its North West production amounting to 17,860 carats at an average of $373 per carat and trial-mining production in the Democratic Republic of the Congo rose 29 percent with 23,249 carats at an average $102 per carat. %% The company projects the demand and supply of rough diamonds in the long term to be positive and in turn affect its profits and growth plans in a positive manner. The company’s exploration projects are present in South Africa, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Namibia and Angola.
