Considering Qatar has been cut off by neighbouring nations like Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates, jewellers from India who have stores in the Gulf have expressed their concern over a dip in sales in the region.

However, traders remain optimistic and believe that the sales would pick up by the end of this month in time for Ramadan. The likes of Popley and PNG Jewellers told Economic Times that there is definitely a slump in sales as there has always been a great demand for gold jewellery in Qatar and now they are unable to buy the same from places such as Dubai.

The GJEPC remains clear about the fact that this will definitely have an impact on the Gems and Jewellery exports.
