The 34th edition of India’s biggest B2B gems and jewellery show, India International Jewellery Show (IIJS), on 31st July 2017, ended on a high note.

Since the Day 1 on 27th July, the shop floor was buzzing with visitors and buyers. It was a lot of hustle bustle as the 34th edition of IIJS opened its doors to the exhibitors, visitors and gems and jewellery aficionados. There was excitement in the air as the show is crucial to the stocking and upcoming bridal season. Post demonetization and GST, the gems and jewellery industry is trying to fight the challenges. The kind of enthusiasm at the show floor during all five days made one thing quite evident that the industry has a never-ending zeal.

Gold and jewellery segments are the stars of every IIJS and this year, too, it wasn’t a different story. The exhibitors at gold jewellery and studded jewellery segment witnessed maximum footfall and did brisk business. While loose stones had a luke-warm response at the show. Besides, amongst the gemstones, emeralds and rubies performed really well. Emeralds beads and in ring sizes had a good demand.

The council also conducted various interactive seminars at the show like Ways to increase profitability, Hiring for the future – Best practices in HR, etc.

GJEPC in association with De Beers presented the third edition of the ‘Jewellers for Hope’ gala charity dinner with an aim to collaboratively contribute for the upliftment of downtrodden and support the needy on the evening of 27th July (inaugural day of IIJS 2017).  Banker & Philanthropist Mrs. Devendra Fadnavis and Actor Arjun Kapoor graced the occasion. A sum of Rs. 1 crore was donated for education and empowering girl child and supporting the needy children.

DiamondWorld Survey Findings:
