GJC announces 'Manthan', a gem and jewellery conclave with a difference

Around 600 jewellers/manufacturers from across India have so far registered for the conclave.

All India Gem and Jewellery Domestic Council (GJC), formerly known as All India Gems and Jewellery Trade Federation (GJF), today announced – Manthan 2018 - one of its kind initiative for the benefit of the gems and jewellery industry.

“It’s a conclave with a difference. It will not only give its participants the insights about how to grow their business but will also impart insights on how to implement and successfully execute it to earn multiple benefits. We are going to have speakers from 12 varied sectors including gems and jewellery sector. It’s a paid conclave and so far more than 600 participants have already registered for it,” said Ashok Minawala, Past GJC Chairman, during the press conference.

The said conclave is slated to take place at Hotel Sahara Star in Mumbai, on 5th and 6th April 2018.

Apart from the participants, GJC has also invited young children of artisans who are qualified but are reluctant to take up the profession of their forefathers. Around 100 such participants are likely to be part of this conclave. “I am sure this conclave will help us change the mindset of these youngsters. Also, I am sure they will get a fresh insight into this industry,” added Ashok Minawala.

Manoj Kumar Jha, Convenor-Manthan, GJC, said, “An event of the sheer scale, magnitude and ambition of Manthan has never been conceived or witnessed ever before in India. The best Indian brains from all walks of life will win the hearts, minds and souls of participating jewellers by sharing invaluable pearls of wisdom. Manthan 2018 will help jewellers to march towards building organized sustainable businesses with standardized systems and processes. It will help them cope up with the challenges of the changing mindsets of ever evolving consumers; and help gems & jewellery sector entrepreneurs build more complaint, transparent and professional enterprises.”

Over a course of two days, the summit would touch upon many issues pertaining to the gems and jewellery industry like Leadership is about creating leaders, Creating a lasting brand, Disruptive innovation – Impact on a brand, etc. Prominent industry leaders like Sudhanshu Mittal, Director, NASSCOM, Suresh Narayanan, CMD, Nestle, Vivek Chaand Sehgal, Chairman, Motherson Sumi Systems, Asher O, MD, Malabar, Suvanker Sen, ED, Senco Gold, etc. will be sharing their experiences with the gems and jewellery industry.
