* 12th IIJS Signature hosted in the midst of the wedding season attracts the right kind of visitors. With 1400+ booths, the show attracted 12500 + visitors across four days.

* The second day was the busiest with a majority of buyers from the East and North. Exhibitors said that the show was average, but despite gold price hitting the highest over the last few days, buyers still showed interest in gold jewellery, which is a good sign for the overall market.

* Designer/ Fusion jewellery did well while diamond and jadau jewellery didn’t gain that much of traction.

* Interestingly, there is a demand for unique, one-of-a-kind designs from Tier II and Tier III cities.

* High priced air tickets and unavailability of hotels in Mumbai have played spoilt sport. Not to miss the fact the show started on a Sunday and covering weekdays also led to lesser quality footfall.

** The general feedback from the exhibitors regarding jewellery demand was that ‘design’ is most important these days. If design is good, then any kind of product can be sold.

*Elections will play a major role in defining the market condition over the next few months. A change in government will not be good for the industry – exhibitors said.

* Emeralds and rubies are having a bit of slow movement, but off beat stones like corals, tanzanites and sapphires are getting a lot of attention.

* Some exhibitors expressed their concern over aligning ‘Design Inspiration’ on the third day of the show – as a good chunk of the exhibitors and buyers visited the seminar, thereby not seen on the show floors.

* The GJEPC announced for the first time that it is launching a toll-free number to address the concerns of its members.

* Between JJS and IIJS (August), this show is timed in such a way that it acts a great networking platform, where exhibitors enjoy a good brand recall from the visitors.
