GJEPC Webinar Explains IEC Updation Procedures

The GJEPC conducted a webinar on 21st July to explain to its members the process of updating the Importer-Exporter Code (IEC) on the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) portal

Following a government mandate, importers/exporters that fail to update their IEC annually could face the deactivation of their IEC.
Guest speaker and topic expert Mihir Turakhia, Director, Novel Exiccon Pvt. Ltd briefed the attendees on IEC updation and resolved the related queries.

The 120 attendees were briefed on the overall IEC updation norms, documentation, procedures, compliances, and benefits.

The topics covered during the session were:

•    What is the IEC Code?
•    DGFT Notification number 58 dated 12th February 2021
•    Procedures to obtain/apply for IEC
•    Validation & Updation process and details required
•    List of documents required and fees payable
•    Important points

The session ended with a vote of thanks by Manish Jivani, Convener, MSME Sub-committee, GJEPC.
