The fifth edition of the India Rough Gemstone Sourcing Show (IRGSS), organised by GJEPC, was inaugurated in Jaipur on March 15 by Rahul Nangare, Commissioner of Customs, Jaipur. The three-week-long exhibition ends on April 2. It features an assortment of rough emeralds displayed by the Gemfields-owned Kagem Mining Company Limited, Zambia.
Colin Shah, Chairman, GJEPC said, “I am happy that we are organising the fifth India Rough Gemstones Sourcing Show, ensuring there is constant supply of good quality gemstones for our sector. We will be happy to organise more such exhibitions for the companies interested, as we would like to connect with mining companies and countries to directly source rough gemstones.”
The opening ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including Anupama Saksena, Assistant Commissioner of Customs (FPO, Tech. & Adjudication); Dr Parul Singhal, Dy Commissioner of Customs (ACC and JGE); J.P. Ltd.; Ram Babu Gupta, Convener, Silver Jewellery; Sanjay Kala, Member Regional Committee & Domestic Exhibitions Committee; Regional Director, Jaipur, Sanjay Singh; and Deputy Director of Exhibitions, Nitin Khandelwal.
