Rough diamonds can now be bought from via the internet through www.diamdel.com, a new website launched by De Beers’ Diamdel. To participate, a company must first register and then can bid for roughs in the Diamdel E-Auctions. What prompted the launch according to Diamdel is the oversubscription of its products which led it to it believe that the most efficient way for selling such goods is via market-determined distribution and prices.%%Rough diamonds will be sold directly and through Diamdel E-Auctions from January 2008, onwards. Amongst the roughs this month, will be a single 750 carat rough diamond, Diamdel assortments and Diamond Trading Company (DTC) goods. Diamdel would be informing its registerd members about the details of the auctions.
