Platinum emerged as the dominant metal at the 98th Academy Awards, with leading jewellery houses presenting diamond-led designs set in platinum across multiple red carpet appearances.

Brands including Tiffany & Co., Cartier, Fred Leighton, Kwiat and Lorraine Schwartz were represented through jewellery worn by nominees and presenters. The pieces highlighted platinum’s continued use in high-value diamond and gemstone settings.

Statement diamond necklaces and men’s brooches were among the key trends observed. The selection of large carat diamonds and vintage-inspired pieces reflected ongoing interest in bold designs and heritage jewellery.

Teyana Taylor wore Tiffany & Co. jewellery featuring a necklace with a diamond exceeding 18 carats, paired with diamond earrings totalling over 12 carats and multiple diamond rings set in platinum. Mikey Madison wore a diamond necklace of over 6 carats, along with earrings exceeding 8 total carats and a diamond ring.

Elle Fanning wore a Cartier transformable necklace from 1903 featuring old-cut diamonds set in platinum, indicating continued relevance of archival designs.

Usher’s jewellery from Fred Leighton and Kwiat included Asscher-cut diamond studs of 2 carats each and a 1930s diamond clip brooch. Zoe Saldaña wore a Cartier high jewellery necklace featuring rubies and diamonds, along with diamond earrings, all set in platinum.

The red carpet showcased platinum’s sustained positioning as a preferred metal for high jewellery across global luxury brands.
