Bharat Diamond Bourse organized a Leadership Series session in Mumbai featuring MUBRI President Ali Pastorini and WGC India CEO Sachin Jain, addressing Latin America demand, trade barriers, and domestic market outlook.
The Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB) organized a special address under its “Leadership Series” in collaboration with GIA Alumni Mumbai, bringing together industry stakeholders in Mumbai.
The session featured Ali Pastorini, President of the International Jewellers Association (MUBRI), who spoke on demand trends for Indian diamonds and jewellery in Latin America. She shared data indicating growing interest in the region and outlined duty structures in markets such as Brazil and Paraguay. Pastorini also suggested measures to improve trade efficiency and logistics between India and LATAM economies.
Sachin Jain, Regional CEO, India, World Gold Council (WGC), presented insights on the outlook for India’s gold and jewellery market. He highlighted upcoming WGC initiatives and discussed shifting millennial preferences influencing consumption patterns. Jain also outlined WGC’s collaboration with the Government of India on infrastructure development for the sector.
The session concluded with a Q&A segment. In his closing remarks, Mehul Shah, Vice President, BDB, said the Leadership Series aims to connect members with global industry leaders and support informed decision-making across companies.
