The International Institute of Gemology (IIG) will host its 32nd Convocation Ceremony on August 11, 2026 at the Radisson Hotel Mumbai, Andheri MIDC, where 150 graduating professionals from its gems and jewellery programmes will receive their certificates.

The convocation, scheduled from 1:00 p.m. onwards, will be held under the theme, Human Brilliance in the Age of AI: Empowering Minds. Enriching Futures. According to IIG, the theme reflects the growing influence of artificial intelligence across learning, jewellery design, manufacturing, retail and customer engagement, while underscoring the continued importance of human judgement, craftsmanship and ethics in the industry.

Kirit Bhansali, Chairman of the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), will attend the ceremony as the Honorary Chief Guest. The event will also bring together graduates, their families, industry leaders, academicians, alumni, faculty members and the wider IIG community.

The graduating cohort includes students from programmes in Gemology, Diamonds, Jewellery Design, CAD, Jewellery Manufacturing, Retail and other specialized disciplines. In addition to certificate conferment, the programme will feature academic honours, keynote addresses and discussions aimed at connecting graduates with industry leaders.

Established in 1965, IIG said the 32nd Convocation marks another milestone in its six-decade focus on gems and jewellery education. The institute stated that it continues to emphasize practical learning, technological integration and industry collaboration to prepare professionals for a technology-driven global jewellery market.
