International Gemological Institute (IGI) reported 23% revenue growth and 31% profit growth for the quarter ended June 2026, supported by growth across loose stones, jewellery and coloured gemstone certification.
International Gemological Institute Limited (IGI) reported consolidated revenue of Rs 3,708 million for the quarter ended June 2026, marking a 23% year-on-year increase from Rs 3,009 million in the corresponding period last year. EBITDA rose 29% to Rs 2,238 million, while profit after tax (PAT) increased 31% to Rs 1,657 million. EBITDA margin improved to 60% from 58% in Q1 FY26, and PAT margin stood at 45%, up from the previous year.
The company attributed the quarter's performance to growth across its core business segments, including loose stones, jewellery and coloured gemstone certification. Profit before tax (PBT) for the quarter reached Rs 2,228 million, representing a 27% year-on-year increase.
Commenting on the results, Tehmasp Printer, Managing Director and CEO of IGI, said, "IGI has commenced FY27 from a position of strength, with Q1 consolidated revenue up 23% and PAT up 31% year-on-year, with broad-based momentum across Laboratory Grown Diamond (LGD) loose stones, LGD jewelry and coloured gemstones. The natural diamond segment remains a key strategic pillar, and we continue to pursue market share through new customer acquisition and deeper engagement with existing clients.
"Investments in our US business are gaining traction, and we commenced operations in Italy as we continue to evaluate opportunities for geographic expansion. In parallel, we are investing in the IGI brand, in our teams, and in artificial intelligence and automation to enhance service quality and turnaround times. These investments position the Company to scale efficiently, and we remain confident of sustaining this momentum through the year."
IGI said demand for certification continues to grow across diamonds, coloured gemstones and jewellery as transparency and product authentication gain importance across global markets. The company noted increasing adoption of laboratory-grown diamonds alongside continued demand for natural diamonds, with certification remaining a key requirement for both segments.
The company also stated that it continues to expand its international presence through investments in new markets and service capabilities, while focusing on artificial intelligence and automation to improve operational efficiency and turnaround times. IGI currently operates through laboratories, in-factory labs and mobile labs across multiple markets, supporting certification services for the global gem and jewellery industry.
