The trend reflected growing interest in gifts that combine the sentiment of the occasion with the value and longevity of precious metals.

Many retailers  reported a strong demand for gold and silver rakhis and gift articles priced up to INR 5,000. Lightweight gold bracelets, pendants, chains, and other jewellery also featured among popular gifting choices.

Younger buyers also explored laboratory-grown diamond jewellery amid rising gold prices. Diamond-studded, convertible, personalized and symbolic designs did very well, broadening the rakhi category beyond the traditional thread.

2. Kumari Fine Jewellery: Convertible Rakhi Designs

Kumari Fine Jewellery offered the Black Tie Convertible Button Rakhi, featuring a gold motif with diamond detailing and a hand-braided thread.

Its centre can be converted into a neckpiece and button cover-up after Raksha Bandhan. The brand’s edit also included diamond studs, bracelets, and statement gemstone earrings.

3. Candere By Kalyan: Jewellery-Led Gifting

Candere by Kalyan presented jewellery and accessories for sibling gifting, including the Lavish Platinum Flexi Bracelet, Nairni Diamond Chain Bracelet, Boxy Diamond Watch Stud, Hamsa Evil Eye Diamond Charm and Droplet Trinket Diamond Watch Stud.

The selection covered gifting options for both men and women, extending beyond the traditional Rakhi format.

DAIMANTÉ built its Raksha Bandhan offering around laboratory-grown diamond jewellery and symbolic motifs.

Its Talisman-inspired edit included the ELLI Elephant Pendant, INFINITIA Infinity Pendant, AMULETTO Hamsa Pendant, NAZARIA Evil Eye Pendant, and STELLAR Shooting Star Pendant, drawing on themes of protection, connection, positivity and aspiration.

This year’s rakhi sales point to a broader role for jewellery in Raksha Bandhan gifting. Gold and silver rakhis combined the festival ritual with precious-metal value, while lightweight jewellery offered consumers a wider range of gifting options amid high metal prices.

For retailers, the category created an opportunity to capture Raksha Bandhan spending across price points — from silver rakhis and lightweight gold jewellery, to diamond-studded and convertible designs.
