De Beers has taken a decision to relocate its sorting operations from London to Botswana's capital, Gaborone. Recently De Beers opened a diamond processing plant in Botswana.The company has been undertaking sorting in London since over almost 80 years, since 1930s, reports the BBC. Its relocation would mean the loss of 50 jobs. London, being the headquarters of De Beers has been its centric location. %% The sorting operation in reference is known as aggregation and entails sorting stones based on the country they come from, their features like size, shape, colour, and their quality.
