De Beers has inducted four non-sightholders to its recently launched ‘DTC Accredited Business Programme’, on their many years of good standing as DTC customers and meeting same stringent Best Practice Principles (BPP) requirements as DTC Sightholders. The companies include Livingstones; Premier Diamond Cutting Ltd; Richold SA; and Shree Ramkrishna Export, each of which had lost their sightholder status at the start of the current DTC contract period. The DTC had to forego a number of strong contenders at the time of sightholders assessment process in 2008, as they did not have enough forecast availability. %% In a statement Mahiar Borhanjoo, new Sales and Client Services Director of the DTC, said: “The four companies joining our Accredited Business Programme are all world class diamantaires and we are proud to publicly endorse them as outstanding businesses that have committed to high standards of ethical and professional behaviour”. They are fully compliant with the De Beers’ Diamond Best Practice Principles, demonstrating a commitment to adhere to business, social and environmental best practice and agreed to participate in the associated Assurance Programme, which incorporates independent, third party verification of their compliance. %% The Accredited Business Programme entitles the members to support from DTC on various platforms, and the advantage to promote their association in the programme during their diamond business activities.
