The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) will be organising two workshops next week, to spread the education of pearl in Duabi. This is the first time the GIA is organising classes for pearl in Dubai. %% The first conference is a two-day Pearl Class being held along with the Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group, and is slated from May 12 to May13, at the Dubai Gold Land Building. %% The second workshop is a one-day Pearl and Bead Stringing class, being organised with the Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group on May 14, at the Dubai Gold Land Building. Upon completion of the courses, students would receive a GIA Letter of Completion. Judith Anand, GIA’s manager –Dubai Laboratory Services, explains the initiative, “Once GIA established a presence here in Dubai, we wanted to quickly begin offering our classes to the people of Dubai and the surrounding region. Because pearls are very important in Dubai, we offering some of our pearl classes first. Other GIA educational opportunities will follow.”
