A delegation of gemologists from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), will attend the GIA Hong Kong Laboratory Service Center from September. 16–29, offering additional laboratory services in time for the Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair, slated between September 21–27. %% “We have supplied laboratory services at trade shows before, but this is the first time we are offering such services well before, during, and after the show,” said Tom Moses, senior vice president of GIA Laboratory and Research. “Providing these services prior to the show lets vendors get their items completed by GIA before the fair starts.” %% The gemologists will attend to the show’s attendees, vendors, local trade and general public, performing diamond grading services (on stones up to 9.99 carats) and all coloured stone services. Reports will be issued on a daily basis. %% Appointments are not required to drop off or pick up items at GIA’s Hong Kong Laboratory Service Center. Items can also be submitted to the Malca-Amit show office at AsiaWorld-Expo for transfer to GIA from September. 21–25.
