The International Diamond Council (IDC) has published its "IDC Rules for Grading Diamonds" in Russian, in the initiative to disseminate a single, authoritative, international set of diamond nomenclature in markets that until recently had little or no access to the information and therefore could not be shared with consumers. %% "This indeed is the core mission of the IDC: a globally accepted, clear and transparent grading nomenclature, to secure and enhance consumer confidence in polished diamonds," said IDC chairman Stephane Fischler. The IDC began translating its Rules, in Chinese in June and is considering additional translations in Japanese, Spanish, Arabic, Portuguese, Italian and French. %% The Russian version of the "IDC Rules for Grading Diamonds" was released at the 34th World Diamond Congress. The IDC Rules and the translations in Russian and Chinese are now available for downloading from the IDC website.
