India’s total gem and jewellery export basket stood at US$ 2,343.36 million in July 2010, rising 40.44 percent from US$1,668.64 million in July 2009. Within this, cut and polished diamond exports saw a rise of 36.81 percent to US$1,679.46 million (US$ 1,227.60 million in July 2009). Gold jewellery exports valued US$454.87 million rising 25.28 percent (US$363.07 million in July 2009). %% Coloured gemstone exports were pushed by a small 5.3 percent to US$19.66 million (US$18.67 million in July 2009).
