Sales for jewellery retailers and brands in India have noted a 10-45 percent rise in the grammage terms, during the festive season between Navratri to Diwali, this year, as compared to last year, reports say. The rise hints an affirmative buying outlook despite soaring gold prices. %% Although jewellers opine a dip in prices would have helped propel sales further. %% The season saw the average price of 24 carat gold at Rs 19,845 per 10 gm, in comparison to Rs 15,939 in the comparable period last year. While investment in gold in the form of bars and coins has been on the rise, following the global unstable environment, jewellery is fast becoming a category consumers are also considering as an investment option, reports say.
