Jonathan Oppenheimer, director -De Beers, mentioned that the diamond futures market has his full support, but had citied problems in the stock valuation stage due to the non-fungible nature of diamonds, and wanted to better understand how the valuation would take place.
He said “We are not saying yes and we are not saying no, we are saying that we are ready to understand diamond futures and to unpack it (the concept).
