Winners of the International Jewellery Design Excellence (IJDE) Awards were announced at a gala reception on March 3 in Hong Kong. The remarkable winner of Distinction Awards were Parth Diamond for their Haathphool (A Cause You Believe In!) (featured here) which is a metamorphic representation of global warming in a wrist-finger ornament and Shobar Asar’s Earcuff (Symphony) wherein the designer has attempted to create a jeweled delight paying homage to the very famous Sainte-Chapelle in Paris, counted amongst one of the frontrunners of Gothic style architecture and its characteristic weightlessness and 13^th century stained glass windows.

The panel of judges comprised Lawrence Ma, Chairman, HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show 2017 Fair Organising Committee; Ms Michelle Ong, Founder and Design Director, Carnet; Jeff Chan, Specialist, Christie's Asia; Ms Emme Wong, Executive Director, Galtiscopio Limited; Ms Irina Slesareva, Chief Editor, Jewellery Review Magazine; Fei Liu, Director, Fei Liu Fine Jewellery; Ms Christina Ko, Editorial Director, Prestige Magazine; Ms Ruth Faulkner, Editor, Retail Jeweller. The judges evaluate the jewellery based upon innovativeness, craftsmanship, aesthetics, wearability, and function.

Winning pieces were featured and showcased at the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show 2017.
