The fascination with elephants date back to the stone age: They symbolise strength, wisdom, divine knowledge, royal power and good fortune. Durja represents the exotic elephant in all its glory.

It beautifully depicts different facets of its emotions and might. It shows the mothers great love and protective instinct for her calf. It beautifully shows the baby elephant in his playful mood and banter. There are earrings that depict the elephant as the most preferred mount or ‘vahana’ of the Gods.

A beautifully designed pendant shows his trunk as his best feature. It also shows his love to move in herds thus showing they love company. ‘Durja’ is a tribute to the wild, boisterous joy that one sees amongst these creatures. It celebrates their bellowing, trumpeting, ear flapping and trunks entwining.
