The 7.4% dip in diamond sales seems to have affected Alrosa’s revenues for the first half of 2007, ending June. Alrosa’s revenues valued at $1.32 billion, a decline of 7%, but its net profit increased by 23% to $233 million for the first half compared to last years first six months. Its pre tax profit also surged up by 12% amounting to $334 million, and its profit from sales was $430 million, while gross profit decreased by 14% to $697 million. Alrosa identified the strengthening of the ruble as one of the reasons for its revenues to slip down.
