The diamond and mineral exploration and production company, Sierra Leone Diamond Company (SLDC), held a second sale of diamonds sourced from its alluvial operations in the Kono district of Sierra Leone. %% The company sold 19,105.91 carats of rough diamonds at an average price of $440.96 per carat. Gross sale proceeds reached $4,456,288. %% Seventeen diamond buyers participated in the sale, which took place in Antwerp. %% Thirteen of the diamonds were defined as special and exceeded 10.89 carats. Their overall weight reached 200.45 carats and the average price was $4,780 per carat. The most outstanding stone weighed 45.25 carats and sold for $13,000 per carat, bringing in $588,250. %% The company noted that all of the stones had been recovered between August 23, 2006 and February 23, 2007.
