The Working Group on Statistics for the Kimberley Process (KP) published data on rough diamond trade and production for the first$$ time. Combined rough exports among the 45 KP countries grew 20.2 percent to $38.41 billion in 2005.%% Export prices rose to $74.71 per$$ carat in 2005 from $64.43/ct in 2004. Total imports rose 17.7 percent to $37.689 billion. KP countries produced 176.709 million carats$$ valued at $11.544 billion in 2005 as production value grew 12.9 percent from 2004.
