IIJS Signature will feature 871 exhibiting businesses and over 12,000 trade visitors are expected, says GJEPC
The IIJS Signature, rescheduled for February 18 to 21, will have 1,472 booths for jewellery in categories such as gold, diamond, gemstone jewellery, loose gemstones, silver jewellery, ornaments and gift items, and laboratories and education.
This was announced by GJEPC on its website, along with the new trade show dates. The event was postponed from January due to the third wave of Covid-19 in India and international travel restrictions, which caused challenges for foreign traders scheduled to visit.
“The international jewellery industry is yearning for design innovation and refilling the inventory,” according to GJEPC chairman Colin Shah. “The industry has recovered well from the pandemic low point, and we are expecting to close the fiscal year on a positive note with exports of close to $41.67 billion, and IIJS Signature will give the industry the required boost in the final quarter,” he said.
The trade show will now take place at the Bombay Exhibition Centre Goregaon, NESCO. The event will follow government and local Covid-19 health and safety regulations and entry will only be permitted to visitors who have received two vaccine doses and pass a thermal scan.
“IIJS Signature was planned in early January, however due to the pandemic scenario in India that were beyond our control, the show had to be postponed,” said the GJEPC’s convenor for national exhibitions, Shailesh Sangani. “Now, as the Covid cases are receding in Maharashtra and circumstances seem favourable, we are all geared up to organise the show from 18th to 21st February at NESCO. We are fortunate to have the support of our exhibitors and visitors, whose participation makes this show a grand success every year.”
