The ‘Membership Outreach & Industry Way Forward’ programme was held at Ahmedabad
The Gems and Jewellery Export Promotion Council of India organised a member connect initiative at Ahmedabad on June 7, in association with the World Gold Council and the Jewellers Association Ahmedabad. The evening commenced with a welcome address given by Mansukh Kothari, Convener, Events, GJEPC to an audience of more than 170 members. This was followed by a presentation on how Ahmedabad has all it takes to become the next Export Hub of India by Jigar Soni, President JAA. Sumit Sengar, Head BIS, Ahmedabad informed the attendees that over 10 crore worth items were already hallmarked as off then and that this was a remarkable achievement.
Jigar Soni’s team went on to make a presentation with elaborate details on BIS and Hallmarking. Somasundaram PR, Regional CEO, India, World Gold Council revealed exciting insights on their gold jewellery campaign called ‘You are Gold.’ Ashok Gautam from IIBX joined the program virtually and explained about various services offered by IIBX. An informative session was presented on the topic of Qualified Jewellers by Ranjith Singh from BSE; Sabyasachi Ray, ED, GJEPC briefed the audience on various initiatives taken by the GJEPC for the benefit of its members. Mansukh Kothari took on the dais again to throw light on new features of IIJS Premiere 2022. The evening concluded with an interactive session of panelists and members.
