The Karnataka Jewellery Association is calling on the state government to establish the proposed Jewellery Park that was announced by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai last year, according to a report in the Deccan Herald.

The project has been stalled as the government has not yet identified a suitable location for the park, said Jewellers' Association President Prashant Mehta.

The Association recently met with the Karnataka Industries Minister Murugesh Nirani to discuss the issue, and while the minister suggested setting up the park in Kalaburagi, the Association has stressed the importance of having a primary park in Bengaluru.

The Association is also seeking a GST concession to support the jewellery industry.
