Diamdel group successfully completed the industry’s first online auctions for rough diamond on January 28, 2008. Sixteen lots were auctioned and bought by 14 buyers around the world’s major diamond centres. Before the auction, all 16 lots were made available for viewing to potential buyers in several of the world’s major diamond centres. Neil Ventura MD, Diamdel said, “We are delighted that the first auction has worked so well and in particular how we have been able to meet the needs of clients from around the world at market determined prices. We are still reviewing the learning from the auction and will be talking to the participants in order to ensure the future auctions are equally successful”.%%Bidders actively participated in Antwerp, Tel Aviv, India and the Far-east. Diamdel received a good response and initiative from its global customer base. The attendance, participation and results exceeded its expectations.
