First Indo-Euro Jewellery Summit to host 14 leading jewellery chains of Europe

The Summit will familiarise the European associates with India's best in gem and jewellery

As a part of Dubai Multi Commodities Centre's increased focus on colour stones and pearls (DMCC) has appointed Gaiti Rabbani as executive director of its new colored stones and pearls division.%%In her new role, Rabbani would be responsible for the strategic development and promotion of Dubai as a global hub for colored stones and pearls, fostering international trade relations and developing local industry services.%%Current projects in her portfolio include the Dubai Gems Club, the recently created Dubai Pearl Exchange and the joint venture initiative -Pearls of Dubai.%%Prior to her appointment, Rabbani was the chief sales and marketing officer for DMCC.%%DMCC reported that in the first half of 2006, Dubai exported more than $653 million of precious and semi-precious gemstones, accounting for 28 percent of the United Arab Emirate’s total exports.%%The UAE made up more than $6 billion of the $146 billion global jewelry market in 2006, DMCC stated.
