The first Diamond Technology Training Institute in Africa opened in Accra, Ghana's capital with a focus to leverage talent in diamond cutting and polishing. According to T. Raj Maheswaran, the Institute's director, Ghana where the institute will be located can offer more than just diamond mining and selling roughs.%%The institute’s curriculum would include teaching the student how to differentiate between various types of diamonds, along with training in diamond cutting and polishing. The institute also offers a job assurance in the open market, once the two month training has been successfully completed.
