The award recognises Dholakia’s six-decade journey from modest beginnings in a Gujarat village to building a global diamond enterprise rooted in sustainability, ethics, and community service. While Dholakia was not present at the ceremony, his son Shreyans Dholakia, who serves as the company’s Brand Custodian, accepted the award on his behalf, dedicating the honour to “every artisan in Surat” and the wider impact of the company’s philanthropic work.

This is the second major international recognition for Dholakia in the U.S., following the USGBC Leadership Award presented by the U.S. Green Building Council in Boston for his commitment to sustainable development.

Under Dholakia’s leadership, SRK has evolved into a name synonymous with high-quality natural diamonds, and a pioneer in green manufacturing. Its Surat facilities are the world’s first Net Zero Energy diamond crafting units and maintain some of the industry’s lowest per-carat emissions.

Beyond business, Dholakia’s focus on giving back has been channelled through the SRK Knowledge Foundation (SRKKF), which marks its 10th anniversary this year. The foundation has made significant strides in education, women’s empowerment, healthcare, and rural upliftment—extending the company’s legacy far beyond commerce.
