The landmark event on July 24 brought together Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer to commemorate a new era of trade and cooperation between the two countries. Organised by the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) of India, the occasion featured a special presentation of fine jewellery to highlight the cultural and creative synergies between India and the UK.

As part of the GJEPC’s showcase, PureJewels, a London-based jeweller with roots in India and East Africa, presented six of its signature collections that fuse traditional techniques with contemporary design. The brand was featured alongside the winning entries from India’s 2025 Artisan Awards, a prestigious platform for design excellence in jewellery.

“It was a real honour to be invited to participate in this momentous event,” said Jayant Raniga, CEO of PureJewels. “Being able to share our story and our heritage through jewellery at such a historic moment reaffirms the value of cultural craftsmanship in today’s global landscape.”

The showcased collections included:

  • Rosettes, symbolising celebration through intricate floral motifs;

  • Armari, reflecting courage through bold, statement pieces;

  • Aiyna, with mirror filigree work representing light and introspection;

  • Dhwani, a GCDC award-winning collection inspired by sound and inner stillness;

  • Maharani, an ode to feminine power and transformation;

  • and Vridhi, another GCDC-recognised piece, capturing the spirit of growth and resilience.

Sabyasachi Ray, Executive Director of GJEPC, praised the inclusion: “We are pleased that Jayant Raniga represented the GJEPC at this milestone event. His deep ties to both the UK and Indian jewellery industries made him a fitting ambassador for the spirit of collaboration this agreement embodies.”

Now in its 75th year, PureJewels continues to champion artisanal excellence with a focus on ethical sourcing, storytelling, and craftsmanship in 22- and 18-carat gold and 950 platinum. The brand is a member of the National Association of Jewellers (NAJ) and has carved a niche for itself in combining legacy with innovation.
