Gold slides further on weak global cues, dollar gains

On sustained selling by stockists amid a weakening global trend.

International Gemological Institute (IGI), has launched a consumer educational initiative to help consumers enhance their knowledge on diamonds and educate them on the need & benefits of diamond certification while buying diamond jewelry. %% With this aim in mind, it held one such event called ‘Know your diamonds’ in Mumbai on February 08, 2007 at Maniratna showroom in Malad.
The Seminar covered ‘Four C’s’ of diamond quality (Clarity, Cut, Colour, Carat), the effect of the 4C's on the price of the diamonds, the necessity of certification of diamonds and diamond jewelry, benefits of having a certified diamond and diamond jewelry. %% Speaking about this consumer educational initiative, Mr. Tehmasp Printer, MD, IGI India said, “We have launched this initiative to educate consumers on the importance of diamond certification and make them more knowledgeable about the quality of diamonds when they purchase diamond jewelry. The Educational Seminars at jewelry stores are a first step in that direction and we plan to take these seminars to other cities all across the country.”
