GJEPC Calls on Citizens to Take Blood Donation Pledge on Jeweller’s Day

The initiative aims to honour the skilled artisans who are the backbone of India’s gem and jewellery sector, while addressing the persistent challenge of blood shortages in the healthcare system.

Once the pledge is taken, blood donation camps will be held in major jewellery hubs, including Mumbai, Surat, Jaipur, Kolkata, Chennai, and Hyderabad, with thousands of donors expected from both the industry and the public. GJEPC described the campaign as one of its most significant social responsibility efforts to date.

Kirit Bhansali, Chairman of GJEPC, appealed to jewellers, karigars, and citizens to join the cause.

“17th September also marks the Vishwakarma Jayanti, and commemorates the 75th birthday of our Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi. On this significant day, I appeal to all the citizens and jewellery community across the country to come forward, take the pledge, and donate blood for this noble cause. Together, let us honour our tradition of craftsmanship with an act of compassion that has the power to save countless lives,” Bhansali said.

Participants can register and take the pledge online by visiting jewellersday.com. The pledge window opens at 7:00 AM on 17th September and runs until 7:00 AM on 18th September 2025.

With this collective effort, GJEPC hopes to build a new tradition of linking Jeweller’s Day not only with the celebration of artisanship but also with a larger spirit of humanity and compassion.
