The International Gemological Institute (IGI) has announced the fifth edition of its global jewellery design contest, IGI Expressions™ 2025–26, opening submissions from December 1, 2025. Centred on the theme “Unveiling the Depths of the Ocean,” this year’s competition invites designers around the world to translate the beauty, mystique and movement of the ocean into compelling jewellery concepts.

Since its inception, IGI Expressions™ has grown into a key international platform, receiving over 1,200 submissions from 54 countries. The contest continues to champion diversity, innovation and artistic storytelling, offering equal opportunity to emerging talent and established professionals across the global design community.

Entries will be accepted until January 31, 2026, across three submission formats — Sketch, CAD and iPad — and within three creative categories: Statement Piece, Convertible Jewellery, and Brooch. These segments are designed to give participants a broad creative canvas while keeping the competition aligned with contemporary product trends.

The contest remains free to enter, a hallmark that distinguishes IGI Expressions™ and encourages widespread participation. This edition will honour nine winners, each receiving a USD 500 cash prize, a trophy and a certificate. Designs will be evaluated by an eminent global jury featuring leading voices from the jewellery and design industry. Winners and finalists will also benefit from extensive media visibility across IGI’s digital platforms, GemBlog and international trade channels.
