The Indian Association for Gold Excellence and Standards (IAGES), a self-regulatory organization formed by the Indian gold industry, has crossed 50 accredited members, covering a network of over 300 stores.

Announced on March 2, 2026, in Mumbai, the milestone includes leading retailers such as Senco Gold & Diamonds, PN Gadgil Jewellers, Kalamandir Jewellers and Waman Hari Pethe Jewellers. Manufacturers including Swarnshilp Chains & Jewellers Pvt. Ltd and Royal Chain Private Limited, along with bullion trader Agau Jewels, have also received accreditation.

IAGES was established to build consumer trust in gold businesses through accreditation conducted via neutral third-party assessments. The organization said the sector remains fragmented due to the absence of a stringent framework for credibility and transparency, which it aims to address through standardized accreditation.

“IAGES continues to strengthen its industry presence, having reached 300+ stores through its fast-growing network of 50+ accredited partners. The success we have seen so far reflects the industry’s collective intent to raise standards and strengthen consumer confidence in the sector. We welcome our partners on board and hope that by aligning Indian gold businesses with global benchmarks, we step forward towards a more transparent, accountable, and future-ready gold ecosystem,” said Kaushlendra Sinha of IAGES.

The accreditation framework applies to refiners, bullion traders, manufacturers, assayers and hallmarkers, retailers and digital gold retailers. IAGES is also running its ‘Before you buy gold, #PehlaCheckIAGES’ campaign to promote awareness among buyers.
