The Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery (IIGJ) recently completed its tenth educational programme in diamond and diamond jewellery. It held the awards ceremony in Mumbai on December 19. The courses delivered included training in basic and advanced jewellery designing, diamond grading and gemology. Students were awarded certificates. The IIGJ is an initiative of Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC).%%GJEPC vice chairman and IIGJ director, Vasant Mehta mentioned that the programme helped address the need for more trained professionals in the Indian gem and jewellery industry. He also said that similar institutes were being set up in Kolkata, Chennai, Delhi and Jaipur.
