Natural Diamond Council will mark April 8, 2026, as World Diamond Day globally, encouraging industry stakeholders and consumers to share natural diamond stories to strengthen awareness, engagement, and category relevance.
The Natural Diamond Council (NDC) has announced the launch of World Diamond Day, to be observed globally on April 8, 2026. The initiative aims to bring together stakeholders across the value chain through shared narratives around natural diamonds.
The council has positioned the day as a collective, participation-led moment rather than a formal campaign. It invites industry participants, consumers, and businesses to share stories associated with natural diamonds, including personal milestones, craftsmanship, and sourcing journeys.
Participants are encouraged to post photographs or short videos on social media using the hashtags #WorldDiamondDay and #NaturalDiamonds. The initiative is open to a broad audience, including manufacturers, retailers, designers, and consumers.
Content themes outlined by NDC include personal occasions such as engagements and anniversaries, heirloom pieces, and the journey of diamonds from origin to finished jewellery. Additional focus areas include community impact, education, conservation, and design craftsmanship.
NDC stated that World Diamond Day is intended to reflect diverse perspectives from across the industry and consumer base. The initiative aims to highlight the role of natural diamonds as symbols of memory, connection, and long-term value.
The council has also made a digital toolkit available via its website, offering optional assets and participation guidelines for businesses and organizations. Companies are encouraged to involve teams, partners, and customers to amplify engagement.
The initiative is expected to create a unified, global platform for storytelling, enabling industry stakeholders to collectively reinforce the positioning and relevance of natural diamonds in a competitive market environment.
