PNG Jewellers hosted 'Pure Bonds Design Excellence 2026', a two-day buyer-seller meet focused exclusively on mangalsutras at its Baner office in Pune on July 1 and 2, 2026. The initiative brought together 20 mangalsutra manufacturers as the retailer prepared product assortments for its annual Mangalsutra Mahotsav, scheduled for August 2026.

The event was designed as a category-specific sourcing platform, with 10 manufacturers showcasing their collections each day. PNG Jewellers' sales and merchandising teams from across its retail network reviewed contemporary and traditional mangalsutra designs to identify collections suited to regional consumer preferences.

According to the company, the format differed from conventional large-scale buyer-seller meets by providing dedicated time for teams to engage with manufacturers on design philosophy, craftsmanship, regional capabilities and product offerings. The shortlisted collections will be distributed across the retailer's store network based on local market requirements.

The initiative also aimed to strengthen collaboration between the retailer and its manufacturing partners while refining the product selection process for one of its key jewellery categories.

Commenting on the initiative, Dr. Saurabh Gadgil, Chairman and Managing Director, PNG Jewellers, said, "Mangalsutra is one of the most cherished categories in Indian jewellery, and selecting the right designs requires both market understanding and close collaboration with our manufacturing partners. Design Excellence 2026 was created with that objective. By bringing together the country's finest manufacturers and our store teams on one platform, we have built a more thoughtful and efficient selection process that will ultimately benefits our customers."

The company said the Pure Bonds initiative is intended to create a structured buying process that enables closer interaction between manufacturers and merchandising teams while supporting product planning for seasonal campaigns. Following the completion of Pure Bonds Design Excellence 2026, PNG Jewellers said it plans to expand the specialized sourcing model to additional product categories as part of its product development and merchandising strategy across its retail operations.
