The proposed 64-storey Almas Tower, has been completed and was launched on December 10, coinciding with the Dubai Jewellery Week, scheduled from 11 to 15. The facility is located in central Dubai and is to become the hub for diamond trade in Dubai. Presently, 300 international and regional companies have purchased space in the building and are expected to occupy it within a few months. Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE) is soon expected to begin operating from its office at the Almas Tower. %% DDE an initiative of the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC). According to DMCC chairman Ahmed bin Sulayem “With the completion of this project, we are setting new and higher targets for the diamond trade in the UAE, and this will be accomplished in a cost efficient manner”.
