IGI launches its School of Gemology in Surat

The Belarusian Banks can now buy and sell diamonds, after having received authorisation from National Bank of Belarus (NBB). Accordingly, appraised diamonds can be purchased with the Belarusian rubel or foreign currencies, at 90% to 130% of the NBB's selling price depending on the status of the domestic and international markets at that time. NBB said that the decision was in good faith to liberalise the domestic diamond market.
