CIBJO will unveil two artworks by Canadian visual artist Reena Ahluwalia at its Centenary Congress in Vicenza, Italy, on September 4, marking 100 years of the World Jewellery Confederation.
The World Jewellery Confederation (CIBJO) will unveil two artworks by Canadian visual artist Reena Ahluwalia during the opening day of its 2026 Centenary Congress in Vicenza, Italy, on September 4.
Both artworks will be donated to the permanent collection of the Museo del Gioiello, located in Vicenza’s Basilica Palladiana.The first work, titled “The CIBJO Centenary Icon”, is a circular painting created in the Renaissance “tondo” tradition. It depicts a navette or marquise-cut diamond set against molten gold.
Ahluwalia describes the diamond as the “Diamond Eye”, representing CIBJO’s role in protecting industry standards, consumer confidence and international cooperation.
The second artwork, “The CIBJO Centenary Medal”, is a commemorative numismatic piece. One side features the CIBJO Congress logo above a round faceted diamond, while the reverse carries a compass symbolising integrity, ethics and standards in the jewellery industry.
A solid gold version of the medal has been produced for the congress by Arezzo-based refinery Italpreziosi. “Jewellery is an artistic medium that expresses human ingenuity using nature’s most precious creations, so it is most appropriate that CIBJO’s Centenary be expressed though fine art,” said Gaetano Cavalieri, CIBJO president.
CIBJO was established in 1926. Its 2026 Centenary Congress will take place from September 4 to 7 at Fiera di Vicenza, alongside VICENZAORO.
