In a related move, the company also announced that Gregg J. Sedun had stepped down as president and CEO, and has been replaced by Roger Daniel, DFIs current director of operations, who already is based in Cape Town. Sedun will continue on as a director and has agreed to assist the company to make an orderly transition.
Daniel is a registered professional geologist and a fellow of the South African Institute of Mining & Metallurgy, with more than 35 years of mining experience. His career has covered a wide range of metals and minerals including diamonds, gold, nickel, copper and other metals and has included projects and mining property valuations throughout Africa and other continents. Daniel joined DFI in April 2001 as Operations Director and was appointed to the company’s main board in mid 2003.
Diamond Fields International has decided to relocate its head office from Vancouver, Canada, to Cape Town, South Africa with a view to bring its management closer to its base of operations in Africa. The transfer will be effective in the first quarter of 2006.
