The rising prosperity of consumers in India and the country’s growing economic clout were underscored by the inclusion of four Indians in the top ten of the Forbes magazine’s annual list of billionaires. %% According to the recently published list of billionaires in the Forbes magazine, the owner of Reliance Jewels, Mukesh Ambani, has been ranked 5th. Reliance Jewels is a jewellery retail initiative, planned to spread across 300 jewellery stores across India in the next three years. Ambani is valued at a net worth of $43 billion. %% In this list De Beers chairman Nicky Oppenheimer ranked at 173 with a net worth of $5.7 bn, while Lev Leviev, was worth $4.5 bn, ranked at 227. Other prominent diamond industry personalities listed were Benny Steinmetz ($3.6 bn, rank 296) and Laurence Graff ($2.5 bn, rank 462).
