Industry Leaders proposed to prepare a program to train young polishers

Students will be taught to apply the traditional craft to various mediums to create, embellish, polish and design ornaments, decorative and utilitarian household items along with other trinkets.
The workshop will be conducted by Master craftsman and state award merit winner Avaz Mohammad. He hales from a family that has been for seven generations in the trade of making Bangles form Lac in Jaipur.
The Indian Institute of Jewellery (IIJ) will hold a workshop in collaboration with Paramparik karigar to promote the traditional, age-old technique of Lac jewellery making. The workshop will run for 15 days starting from March 20 - April 7, 2006 at the institute.
